Lesson 1 introduced English spelling and its variations, and began to apply this in reading. Lesson 2 began slimmed down spelling, Kimberly moving from writing It wus getin lat at nit to It was getting late at night. This lesson begins with explaining how said is not spelled sed, continued with reading a new book, and ended with Kimberly writing last week's sentence accurately. I then had a conversation with Mrs Whittaker, Kimberly's teaching assistant. Points to note - Kimberly is beginning to correct her own errors, and to use one word in a group as a cue to another (busy, buried). There is, of course, much to do, but we're on our way.
