I'm speaking at the ALL Fringe conference at Nottingham on 23rd March on using grammar to unlock languages for adults. Here is an abstract:
The late Michel Thomas made a big impact on language learning for adults with his emphasis on sentence building and shared vocabulary (cognates), combined with a pace of work closely matched to students' developing understanding. This session will take these principles further, showing how careful presentation of key grammatical features helps learners to adjust their thinking to the requirements of the new language, building understanding and confidence, and putting them in control of what they say and write.
